*COURSE ANNOUNCEMENT*

ELIXIR-IT is pleased to announce the upcoming "*EMBO Practical Course
Population Genomics: background and tools*".
In this EMBO Practical Course, participants will learn fundamental concepts
and advanced approaches to reconstruct the demographic history of
populations and infer natural selection, using both classic and machine
learning-based techniques. Participants will also learn the essential and
advanced programming skills required to run the analyses related to the
concept presented, with a special focus on machine learning.

*IMPORTANT DATES:*
Registration and abstract submission deadline: *16 February 2024*
Notification of acceptance: *1 March 2024*
Payment deadline: *16 March 2024*

*VENUE*
The course will take place on *10-16 June 2024* in *Castellammare di Stabia*,
Naples, Italy.

*FEE*
Students/postdoc/academics:
*500 euros*
Industry:
* 1000 euros*
Registration fee waivers, travel and child care grants are available!

Registration includes:

   - Accommodation in shared room for 7 nights (IN: 10/06/2024; OUT:
   17/06/2024)
