biostatistics, and medical informatics. CIBB is also looking for
contributions on current trends and future opportunities at the interface
between computer and life sciences, and applications of computational
intelligence to system and synthetic biology.
Theoretical and experimental biologists are also encouraged to participate
and present their experiences in facing novel challenges to foster
multidisciplinary collaboration.
Authors are invited to submit a short paper (4-6 pages) describing their
original contribution in the fields of bioinformatics, biostatistics,
systems and synthetic biology, and medical informatics. All accepted
contributions will be presented in plenary oral sessions and special
sessions.
WHEN AND WHERE
CIBB 2023 will take place on September 6-8 2023, in Padova, Italy, at the
Multifunctional Psychology Hub of the University of Padova (Cittadella

PAPER SUBMISSION AND PUBLICATION

Authors are invited to submit a short paper (4-6 pages) describing their
original contribution in the fields of bioinformatics, biostatistics,
systems and synthetic biology, and medical informatics. Submitted
contributions will undergo peer review before acceptance. All accepted
contributions will be presented in plenary oral sessions and special

SPECIAL SESSION PROPOSALS

In addition to the main track, the conference will provide a number of
special sessions focused on specific scientific subjects.

Special sessions focus on a specific, possibly cutting-edge topic of
interest for the CIBB audience. Special session organisers will be
responsible for disseminating their call for papers, managing the reviewing
process, and chairing the oral presentations for their session. A special
session should have at least 4 accepted papers (oral presentations) and
might have a proposed invited speaker.

Feel free to check the special sessions of the past editions of CIBB to get
a sense of what is expected.

Special session proposals should include i) the session's title, ii) its
scope, and iii) a short biography of the session chairs. The special
session organisers may propose an invited speaker. To do so, the organisers
should also submit a short bio of the speaker and a selection of their most
relevant publications about CIBB-related topics. Invited speaker
submissions will then be evaluated by the CIBB chairs. Reimbursement of
travel expenses for the special session speakers will not be provided by
CIBB.

An approved special session can happen if it has at least 4 short papers
accepted; otherwise, the accepted papers will be included in the conference
main track.

Special session proposals should be sent via email to the conference chairs
at cibb2023 a dei.unipd.it. The submission of the special session proposals
is currently open and the deadline for proposal submission is 19 February
2023.
