ELIXIR-IT is pleased to announce the upcoming workshop on Metabolomics and Integrative omics: from data production to analysis . IMPORTANT DATES Deadline for applications: 27 Mar 2022 Deadline for the presentation of use cases (see below): 27-03-2022 Course date: 28-29 April, 2022 VENUE CNR Research Area of Bari Via Amendola 122/O 70126 Bari, Italy FEE Academic: 90 EUR PhD students: 70 EUR Undergraduate students: 60 EUR Industry:120 EUR This workshop is limited to 50 in-person participants on a first-come-first-serve basis. COURSE DESCRIPTION The workshop is designed to enable the attendees to apply metabolomics in a research-based context. We will focus both on experimental design and data analysis of different data sources integrated at the level of the metabolome. Attendees will engage into the design of a mass spectrometry-based metabolomics experiment with cutting-edge equipment and will gain an overview on the use of specific software platforms for metabolomics data mining. Special attention will be paid to the integration of metabolomics data with metagenomics, gene expression and proteomic data. TARGET AUDIENCE Research scientists who are using or planning to use metabolomics analysis in their research activities are welcome to attend the workshop. Participants are invited to present a use case by submitting an abstract (max 150 words) containing a short description of their research topic and the metabolomics issue/approach they wish to discuss with the speakers. The Organizing Committee will select ten abstracts for a flash presentation and discussion during the roundtable on Friday, on 29th April 2022 afternoon. Cheers, Bea ************************************************************* * IWSG 2022 * 14th International Workshop on Science Gateways * 15-17 June, 2022, Trento, Italy * Website: https://iwsgateways.github.io/iwsg2022/ * *********************************************************** Important dates: - The deadline for paper/abstract submission: March 22, 2022 (new!) - Notification of acceptance: April 15,  2022 - Submission of camera ready papers/abstracts: May 1, 2022 - Registration deadline for authors/presenters: May 8, 2022 - Early-Bird registration deadline: May 15, 2022 - Dates of the workshop: June 15-17, 2022 Science gateways are a community-specific set of tools, applications, and data collections that are integrated together via a web portal or a desktop application, providing access to resources and services of distributed computing infrastructures. The triumvirate of technologies," Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the hybridlate Cloud (Cloud, Fog, Edge), complemented with modern software engineering practices, stimulates the emergence of new approaches to Science Gateways. Blockchain and Smart Contracts could also be instrumental in this respect as they may facilitate decentralised, standards and market driven aggregation of data and computing resources, which are needed for scientific work. These technologies may also be useful for the development of new Virtual Research Environments and Virtual Labs. The workshop aims to bring together researchers and scientists from different scientific domains, along with science gateways developers, to discuss problems and solutions in the area, to identify new issues, to shape future directions for research, foster the exchange of ideas, standards and common requirements and push towards the wider adoption of science gateways in eScience. We invite the submission of papers related to various aspects of Science Gateways. We invite the submission of papers related to Science Gateways. Topics include, but are not limited to: * Architectures, frameworks and technologies for science gateways * Science gateways sustaining productive collaborative communities * Support for scalability and data-driven methods in science gateways * Improving the reproducibility of science in science gateways * Science gateway usability, portals, workflows and tools * Software engineering approaches for scientific work * Aspects of science gateways, such as security and stability * Demonstrations/success stories There are three alternatives for researchers to present their work: talks, lightning talks, and demonstration sessions. Submission of a full paper may result in a talk, submission of an abstract may result in a lightning talk or a demonstration. Accepted full papers will be published at CEUR Workshop Proceedings (http://ceur-ws.org/). Accepted abstracts will be published online on the IWSG webpage. Furthermore, authors of best papers will be invited to submit a significantly extended and updated version of their paper to a special issue on science gateways in a journal (applications in preparation) and will be jointly organized with the US Gateways Conference. We would like to draw your attention to a new programme aimed at boosting engagement and resource uptake through the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). This month, the EOSC Future project is launching the ?*EOSC Platform Early Adopter Programme (EOSC Platform EAP)*? in collaboration with C-SCALE, DICE, EGI-ACE, OpenAIRE Nexus, Reliance and ARCHIVER. *Participation* At a glance, the EOSC Platform EAP is open to: * Providers looking to integrate their services into EOSC to make them available to the research community at large. * Research communities working to address cross-disciplinary, societal or complex research challenges by using EOSC resources from different disciplines or e-infrastructures. *The offer ? ?Early Adopter Projects?* The selected applications will be organised into ?Early Adopter Projects? with well-defined work plans and objectives (e.g. onboarding a service into EOSC, running a data analysis workflow, etc.). Each project will have a duration of 3, 6 or 12 months, depending on the nature and level of complexity. ** ** *Deadline* There will be a cut-off deadline every 2 months, whereby applications submitted up to that date will be evaluated. Applicants will be informed of the evaluation committee's decision within 1 month following the cut-off date. *Next cut-off date: 15 May 2022* ** More information on the programme and conditions for applying: https://eosc-portal.eu/eosc-early-adopter-programme ** All the best,?
