[ELIXIR-ITA_ml] [Dec 1] Workshop "SARS-CoV-2 Data Analysis and Monitoring with Galaxy"

Dear All,

The Galaxy community has been analysing SARS-CoV-2 data analysis since 
the beginning of the pandemic (https://covid19.galaxyproject.org 
<https://covid19.galaxyproject.org>). Motivated by several European 
countries joining the monitoring efforts to identify variants of concern 
and in an effort to enable everyone to use these resources, we are 
organising a workshop on "*SARS-CoV-2 Data Analysis and Monitoring with 
Galaxy*" on the *1st of December*.

We successfully ran a previous edition of this workshop for 4 days in 
August. Now, we offer a *condensed 1-day* version. The sessions will be 
pre-recorded with *live support in chat* and *live Q&A sessions*. The 
workshop is *free of charge* and all the training materials will stay 
available online after the workshop. Please find the full program,

Many labs are considering changes to their sequencing protocols to 
respond to dropouts observed in Delta lineage viruses sequenced using 
ARTICv3 primers. Participants can choose example datasets generated 
using ARTICv3, ARTICv4, or VarSkip primer schemes.

Workshop participants will become familiar with the robust, 
high-throughput, user-friendly workflows that enable variant 
identification, consensus sequence generation, and lineage 
identification. Analysis skills gained in this workshop will translate 
to future sequencing challenges and enable rapid adaptation using 
publicly funded compute resources across the globe.
